We are a premier southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois fishing club with a muti-species focus. We regularly chase panfish, walleye, muskie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and Great Lakes salmon and trout. If it swims, we want to catch it. We have regular outings to some of the best fishing destinations in the midwest. Walleyes at De Pere, smallmouth in Door County, and muskies on Lake of the Woods are just a few. If you are interested in learning, teaching, and, most importantly, fishing, join us in our trophy quest.

Members of the Rock Valley Anglers®:
Last Thursday night the Executive Board of the Rock Valley Anglers of Illinois in a series of unanimous votes moved to end its long standing operations as an independent corporation and has now become a legal subsidiary of the Wisconsin corporation of the Rock Valley Anglers Inc.
This begins a new chapter in the history of both of these organizations. As a unified corporation, the membership of the entire organization can look forward to a collection of new opportunities and options. This is a “win-win” situation for all, and will make for a new, stronger corporation moving forward.
This journey began almost a year ago when the Wisconsin corporation of the Rock Valley Anglers Inc. Executive Board charted a plan for growth and initiated a series of steps to get to where we are now. Late last fall, members of the Wisconsin corporation’s Executive Board reached out to members of the Rock Valley Anglers of Illinois to start the process. It became apparent to both Boards that this could and would be vital to assure the long term success of both organizations. In December the Presidents of both clubs met for an informal presentation of the long term vision, goals and benefits that the entire membership would receive at the end of this process. This meeting was a positive first step, and resulted in the drafting of a new set of Articles of Incorporation to spell out the duties, roles and obligations of this new corporation.
Both Executive Boards participated in the discussions leading to the approval of the Articles, and we wish to thank the entire group for their contributions, ideas, and commitment to make this shared vision become a reality. There are two important points we would like to make to you that result from the new Articles. First, the organization will now be recognized as a Federal 501 (C)(3) charity organization, which will have a dramatic impact on the fund raising and community service potential of the corporation. Secondly, the corporation is looking into insurance coverage to protect the corporation from liability.
The newly formed executive board will discuss these as well as the other many benefits from this development at the next meeting in Rockford on February 11th. We encourage the members of both organizations to join us next Wednesday night at the Illinois chapter of the Rock Valley Anglers meeting at the Hoffman House, corner of State Street and Bell School Road.
